Prague Spring Festival (Prazske jaro)
The Prague Spring Music Festival is a yearly celebration of music that treats top solists and orchestras from all over the world. Festival is a major attraction for music lovers, tourists and musicians themselves. The Prague Symphony, the Vienna Philharmonic, as well as other international orchestras take part in the yearly music festival.
It was born in 1946, when the Czech Philharmonic was celebrating the 15th anniversary of its founding and at the same time, the Czechoslovak Republic celebrated the 1st anniversary of the end of the Second World War.
Concerts take place at various venues around Prague – The National Theater, the Estates Theater, the State Opera, the Municipal House, St. Anne´s Monastery and others.
